Council of Oman takes part in Cairo meeting

Muscat: The Council of Oman participated on Saturday in the first session of the second annual convening of the third legislative term of the Arab Parliament held at the Headquarters of the Arab League, Cairo.

The delegation of the Council of Oman comprised Dr. Hasan Ali Al Mad’hani, member of the State Council; Sheikh Ali Nasser Al Mahrouqi, member of the State Council  and Humaid Ali Al Naseri member of Majlis Al Shura.

The session discussed the conditions in the Arab region, the latest developments at the regional arena and the reports of the Parliament’s committees.

The Council of Oman participated in the preparatory meetings of the committees of the Arab Parliament committees.

The participation of the Council of Oman aimed at cementing the parliamentary relations among the Arab countries taking part in the event and communicating with the members of the legislative councils and parliaments of the Arab countries and other countries.

Adel Abdulrahman Al Asoumi, President of Arab Parliament, and chairman of the session  announced the launch of the Arab Centre for Anti-terrorism and Extremism.
