Italian firms explore investment opportunities in Oman

Muscat: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion held a meeting with Italian companies to familiarise them with the investment incentives and opportunities in the Sultanate.

During the virtual meeting, Aseela Salim Al Samsami, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Investment Promotion, affirmed that Oman opens doors for investment from all nationalities.

She also noted that there are more than 64 Italian companies currently operating efficiently in the Sultanate in the fields of mining, industry, real estate development, oil and gas.

The meeting saw the participation of Sultanate’s embassy in Italy and the Italian embassy in Muscat, in addition to representatives from Oman Investment Authority (OIA), the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ), the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn), ASYAD Group, and a number of Italian companies from various fields.

The meeting touched on the Investor Residency Program, recently launched by the Ministry, in addition to the incentives and privileges generated by the Foreign Capital Investment Law.
