Oman to re-engineer, develop roads to suit tropical conditions

Muscat: A joint engineering committee will be formed to re-engineer roads and develop their technical specifications to suit tropical conditions.

"A joint engineering committee to be formed to lay the foundations and main principles with the participation of services of the Sultan's Armed Forces and the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology to re-engineer roads and develop their technical specifications to suit tropical conditions," Oman News Agency (ONA) said in a statement.

There was also a meeting held by His Excellency Sultan bin Salim Al Habsi, the Minister of Finance, Chairman of the Ministerial Committee to assess the damages resulting from the cyclone Shaheen, along with officials from the governorates of North and South Al Batinah.
