Muscat: The Ministry of Labour made an announcement for workers in the private sector about the opening of registration to join the National Programme for Leadership Development to Empower the Middle and Higher Omani Administrators.

The National Programme for Leadership Development to Empower the Middle and Higher Omani Administrators in the Private Sector 'Etimad' and in cooperation with Competence for Human Resources Development announced the opening of registration to receive applications for candidates working in private sector companies and institutions, starting from Monday, 11 October, 2021, until Sunday, 24 October, 2021. 10 per cent of the seats have been allocated for owners of small and medium enterprises to join the programme, and the current batch is limited to senior leaders only.

The 'Etimad' programme aims to train and empower workers in the private sector and raise the level of their leadership and supervisory skills through a specialised programme designed in partnership with international and local institutions and centres with experience in refining managerial skills and training leaders.

The conditions for joining the training programme are:
1- The employee should be of Omani nationality and working in the private sector or as an entrepreneur.

2- The employee must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university and a high diploma as a minimum qualification.

 3- At least seven years of experience, including at least three years in leadership positions.

4- He/she should be proficient in the English language (spoken and written).

 5- Possesses middle leadership experience as managing a department or team.

 6- The employee's data should be registered with the Ministry of Labour.

7- The entrepreneur must be registered with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (Riyada).

8- Those who were previously nominated and did not join the first batch are entitled to run for office.

9- The nomination of workers in the private sector should be through employers.
