Mwasalat suspends its bus and ferry services in Oman

Muscat: Bus and ferry services in Oman are suspended, starting Sunday, 3 October, owing to the rough weather conditions that tropical storm Shaheen is likely to cause.

However, the Salalah city bus service will continue, said Mwasalat, the country’s national transport operator.

"Mwasalat will suspend its bus and ferry services in all governorates of the Sultanate, starting from Sunday, October 3, 2021. The city bus service in Salalah and ferry service for the route Shannah-Masirah will continue," said the organisation in a statement.

The suspension means that all intra-city bus services in Muscat and other governorates are also on hold, as is the ferry service to and from Musandam.

“It is in the best interests of Mwasalat to ensure the safety of passengers, since these services would be impacted by the exceptional weather conditions expected in the coming period,” added the company.

Customers will be notified of any update on rescheduling of the trips or the date of the resumption of suspended routes on Mwasalat’s platforms through social media channels.
