Oman's Council of Ministers meets State Council

Muscat: His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, received members of the State Council's Office, headed by Shaikh Abdulmalik Abdullah Al Khalili, Chairman of the State Council. The meeting was held within the context of cooperation between the Cabinet and the Council of Oman.

The meeting, held at the Council of Ministers, is one in a series of meetings that come within the framework of coordination stated in the Basic Law of the State and in pursuance of the continuous interaction between all institutions of the state. It is an opportunity to exchange views about matters of significance to sustainable development in the Sultanate.

At the outset of the meeting, Sayyid Fahd commended the leading role of the State Council’s Office in fostering fruitful cooperation.

The meeting affirmed the need to rally efforts to promote the supreme interests of the state and safeguard the achievements of the country’s comprehensive renaissance.

The government hopes that the State Council will utilise its expertise in conducting more intensive studies to upgrade the level of public service programmes, said Sayyid Fahd, who laid emphasis on cooperation between the two sides in supporting plans that sustain the country’s progress and prosperity.

Shaikh Abdulmalik and members of the State Council’s Office valued the meeting between the government and the State Council and underscored the importance of the coordination in the next stage of development.

Topics of the agenda were reviewed, among them ways of cementing partnership between the government and the State Council.

The two sides agreed that the State Council would pursue social awareness and collaboration in serving the nation under the leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik.
