Muscat: Thunderstorms accompanied by downward wind are predicted over Al Hajar Mountains along with dust storms over some governorates of Oman, Oman Meteorology said on Sunday.
Oman Meteorology said in its daily weather forecast: "The weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies along the coastal areas of Dhofar Governorate and the adjoining mountains. There will be mainly clear skies over the rest of Oman along with chances of convective cloud formation and thunderstorms associated with downward wind over Al Hajar Mountains and adjoining areas towards the afternoon and evening."
" There is a chance of dust rising winds over Al Buraimi, Al Wusta and Al Dhahirah Governorates. Late night to early morning low-level clouds or fog patches is expected over the coastal areas of Arabian Sea and Oman Sea," the Meteorology added.
the National Multi Hazards Early Warning Centre is following up on indicators that constitute a tropical situation in the Arabian Sea .
"Specialists at the National Multi Hazards Early Warning Centre are following up on indicators that constitute a tropical situation in the Arabian Sea at the end of this week. The Centre calls on the Civil Aviation Authority, citizens and residents, to follow up on its bulletins and reports," Oman Meteorology said in a statement.
