Injaz Oman announces names of winners in ‘Student Company’ programme and competition

Muscat: Injaz Oman announced the names of the winning companies in the 10th of the ‘Student Company’ programme and competition on Monday evening, September 20. The ceremony was held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC) under the patronage of HH Sayyid Fahr Al Said, alongside a number of Highnesses and Excellencies, as well as senior officials from the public and private institutions participating in the programme.

The final results of the competition are as follows. On the college level, sponsored by the Zubair Corporation, T2C company won the award for the Best Student Company in the Sultanate for 2021 to represent the Sultanate in the regional competition, sponsored by The Zubair Corporation. Korea Motiv won the award for the best sustainable product, also sponsored by The Zubair Corporation, and Thaara winning the award for the best innovative product, sponsored by Boeing.

On the school level, sponsored by OMINVEST, Hirfa won the award for the Best Student Company, Ajwan won the award for the best sustainable product and Purex won the award for the best innovative product.

For the sub-awards category sponsored by Boeing, Boon was the winner of the ‘Elevator Pitch’ award, which saw an innovative demonstration of the idea in just 90 seconds.

Commenting on The Zubair Corporation's sponsorship of the competition, Rashad Al Zubair, Chairman of the Corporation’s Board of Director’s stated, “Supporting and nurturing entrepreneurs has always been a key strategic objective of The Zubair Corporation, reflecting our role and contribution to society. Therefore, our initiative to sponsor this competition, organised by INJAZ Oman, seeks to promote and spread the culture of entrepreneurship among youth in the Sultanate.”

 “Through our partnership with INJAZ Oman, we are keen to support participating student companies and enable them to transform their ideas into projects that can be implemented on-ground. We extend our warmest congratulations to all the winners and wish them a bright future towards further progress and achievements,” he added.

Khawla Al Harthiya, CEO of INJAZ Oman, said, “This year, we witnessed fierce competition from the participating student companies. Despite the difficult conditions imposed over this year due to health conditions, we were able to overcome the current situation by utilising modern technologies. This way we were able to help students present their projects and encourage them to develop their creative ideas.”

 “Thankfully, we are conducting the ceremony to honour the winners, whose victories were well-deserved, alongside all the participating students and organisers. We congratulate all the winning companies of the 10th edition of the programme and wish them continued success. Last but not least, we would like to extend our warmest gratitude to the sponsors of the competition, which was aimed at fostering a culture of entrepreneurship among young people,” she added.

The jury panel for the competition this year included several specialised experts, namely Adel Al Hubaishi, Executive Manager of the Zubair Small Enterprise Centre (Zubair SEC), Majid Al Amri, CEO of Thawani Technologies, Abdullah Al Saidi, CEO of Nafath Renewable Energy and Abdullah Al Abri, CEO of Makers of Progress.

The Student Company’ competition for this year is sponsored by The Zubair Corporation as the main sponsor of the programme and the main prize. Oman International Development and Investment Company (Ominvest) were the programme sponsors for the schools’ category alongside Boeing, Sohar International Bank and MetLife as sub-sponsors of the competition.
