Muscat: As many as 2,810,262 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 in Oman with at least the first jab since launching the National Immunisation Campaign till yesterday (Sunday) 19 September, reaching 80 per cent of the target segment.
The number of those who received two jabs of the COVID-19 vaccine stood at 1,826,224 comprising 52 per cent. The total number of administered doses stood at 4,636,486.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health continues vaccinating target segments against COVID-19 in all governorates of the Sultanate as vaccination centres witness a good daily turnout.
Death rate due to COVID-19 has decreased by more than 70 per cent last week, said the Government Communication Centre (GCC). The percentage of recoveries decreased to 13 per cent.
The rate of inpatients at intensive care units has reduced by 15 per cent and the inpatients at health institutions by five per cent.
For the period September 12 to September 18, the rate of immunisation with COVID-19 vaccines has risen by 3.3 per cent.
For the third consecutive day, on Monday, Oman recorded zero deaths due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
According to the data shown by the Ministry of Health (MoH), Oman has recorded zero deaths and 36 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours. In addition Oman has registered 113 new recoveries, bringing the recovery rate to 96.9 per cent.
Oman has recorded only one death due to COVID-19 on September 16, 2021, with no further deaths thereafter.
