Muscat: As a first project of its kind at the level of vocational colleges, three students from the Vocational College in the wilayat of Saham have made a 3D printer.
“Three students from the Vocational College in the wilayat of Saham in the North Al Batinah governorate were able to create a 3D printer as the first project of its kind at the level of vocational colleges as part of their graduation projects in the Department of Electronic Engineering,” the Oman News Agency (ONA) said in a statement.
The innovative students, Omran bin Ali Al-Maamari, Bashar bin Khalifa Al-Handasi and Abdul Majeed bin Ali Al Mathuri, explained that the printer works with a high quality that competes with printers in the market and is used in the industries of medical and surgical instruments and prosthetics, in addition to the production and manufacture of toys.
Adel bin Muhammad Al Esai, Assistant Director of the Saham Vocational College, said that the manufacture of a 3D printer in the Department of Electronics Engineering as a first printer at the level of vocational colleges in the Sultanate confirms the ability of Omani youth and their ability to move forward in the field of innovation.
