Muscat: More than 700,000 students will go back to school tomorrow in Oman.

Tomorrow, Sunday, the new school year 2021-2022 begins, and the number of students in government schools has reached 702,658, distributed among 1204 schools, including 1191 schools for basic education, 22 new schools, and 13 schools for post-basic education.

The Ministry of Education has completed the procedures for appointing 2,954 teachers who have passed the written tests and personal interviews for this academic year, including 444 male teachers 15%, and 2510 female teachers 85% of the total number of those who will be appointed in various disciplines.

The Minister of Education confirmed in her speech that this year is witnessing a renewed start towards proficiency and development, as the ministry sought to achieve the safe gradual return of students to school due to Covid-19.
