Muscat: The Republic of Austria has appreciated Oman's role in mediating many conflicts in the region, said the Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs, Austria.
His Excellency Alexander Schallenberg, Federal Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs, Austria, confirmed in an exclusive statement to the Oman News Agency(ONA) that his country welcomes and highly appreciates the role played by Oman in mediating many conflicts in the region, indicating that this matter has become a long-standing Omani tradition.
The Austrian minister also referred to Oman's role in many regional files, especially the Yemeni crisis, and played an indispensable role in the difficult process of reaching a peaceful solution to the conflict in Yemen, describing Oman as the centre of calm and balance in a region full of unfortunate events and turmoil.
His Excellency clarified that Oman and Austria share many trends and have a firm belief in international law and diplomacy, in addition to their keenness to build bridges of cooperation and dialogue between all parties to the international community.
The minister confirmed that the opening of the Austrian embassy headquarters will contribute to strengthening bilateral relations and linking the people of the two countries. Noting that the two sides have a common interest in promoting trade, investment and tourism, in addition to cooperation in the fields of renewable energy and green hydrogen.
