Muscat: As part of its continuous endeavour to empower national competencies, the Business International Group (BIG), one of the subsidiaries of The Zubair Corporation, has successfully implemented several intensive training programmes and plans for national competencies. This was organised with the aim of providing them with relevant skills and knowledge necessary to occupy administrative and technical positions. This step is a part of fulfilling the strategy of The Zubair Corporation and its group of companies, which seeks to enhance its effort in developing human capital across the Corporation’s group of companies.

BIG qualified the national competencies to enable the company’s ambitious talents to achieve their professional aspirations. Several Omani employees expressed their satisfaction with the level of training and the attention provided by the management to the promotion and qualification of the team, which was aligned with the Oman 2040 vision, especially with regard to empowering local competencies.

Speaking about his personal experience, Ahed Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Zadjali, Director of Human Resources in the group, said, “I joined the Business International Group in the IT Department in 2009. The nature of my work allowed me to deal with various departments in the group, which enabled me to know the needs of employees and determine the best ways to support their careers. Through my commitment and dedication to work, I was promoted to the Human Resources Department. Following this, I participated in several courses and was nominated by the management to occupy the position of Assistant Director of Human Resources, before being promoted to the Director of Human Resources in the company.”

“Currently, I am training and motivating young Omanis to gain experience and knowledge through hard work and by enhancing their performance. My mission is to spread the spirit of challenge and motivation among the team to make them future leaders,” he added.

From her side, Noura Said Al Abri said, “I joined the Business International Group in 2009, and through dedication and perseverance, I was promoted to higher positions in the company. I am currently working as a Senior Assistant in the Sales and Collection Department, where the institution has qualified and trained me on all specialised work. This has also helped me improve self-confidence and through the encouragement of my colleagues, I have been able to enhance my performance. I would like to thank the management of the group for taking into account and supporting talent and ambition.”

Hussein Anwar Al Bahrani, Director of Debt Collection at the group, highlights his story, “I started working as a debt collector in 2017, and thanks to the motivation and encouragement from my colleagues, I was quickly promoted to fully manage the department. The management of the group played a major role in promoting the spirit of perseverance and dedication. Currently, I am working on developing all Omani employees working in the company and enabling them to enhance their skills to move up in the career ladder.”
