Muscat: Eng. Salim bin Nasser Al Aufi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil and Gas expected 91 fuel, which will replace the existing 90, to be available on the market in early August.
He added in a statement that the oil companies are committed not to sack Omani staff. As per the approved mechanism, the main contractor will specify the type of work and the expired contracts and then will try to replace expatriates with Omanis.
This was discussed on Sunday during Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) graduation celebration of almost 600 young Omanis from Company-sponsored training schemes to work in the oil and gas industry.
The fifth batch of graduates is the largest in the history of PDO’s National Objectives programme, which was launched in 2011 to create employment and training opportunities for jobseekers with the Company’s contractors.
