Muscat: Three teenagers were arrested in Sohar on robbery charges, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) said.
According to an official source at ROP, the teenagers used to travel on motorbike, snatch mobile phones from people on the road and then escape.
“They would also stop victims to forcibly search through their possessions to steal from them,” the official added.
The teenagers are between the ages of 16 to 17 years, and were arrested in the region of Falaj Al Qabail in Sohar.
The official source said that the Department of Criminal Investigation in the province has arrested the teenagers on charges of committing several crimes of theft and forced robbery.
The three suspects have been referred to Public Prosecution for further investigation.
