Muscat: The Board of Directors of the National Records & Archives Authority (NRAA) discussed plan to set up one building for safeguarding the intermediary documents.
The board held its first meeting for 2016 under the chair of His Highness Sayyid Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Minister of Heritage and Culture, Chairman of the NRAA Board.
The meeting covered a range of issues related to NRAA trends and future plans. The Board also approved the NRAA final account for 2015 and the budget for 2016, as well as linking the budget to implement the approved action plans and activities for the year. It also discussed the measures taken to amend NRAA organisational chart.
The Board also discussed a project to set up one building for safeguarding the intermediary documents. It also reviewed the follow up report about the achievements made by NRAA during 2015 especially in conferences, researches, oral history and e-storing fields.
The Board also reviewed the action plan for implementing and following up the private documents management system in 2016.
It also reviewed a proposal to set up a centre for NRAA’s backup data. It also discussed a proposal for the scientific qualification in postgraduate in records and archives fields.
