Royal Cavalry riders to display their skills at Al Rahba Racecourse

Muscat: Royal Horse Racing Club is going to organise the final race of the 2018/2019 horse race season on April 6, 2019, at Al Rahba Racecourse in Barka at 3:30pm.
The event will be held under the auspices of Sheikh Saad bin Mohammed Al Saadi, Minister of Sports Affairs. Brigadier- General Abdulrazak Al Shahwarzi, commander of the Royal Cavalry, general supervisor of horse racing, stated that this event would include five races and equestrian displays by Royal Cavalry’s riders, in addition to mounted and dismounted Omani and international pieces of music played by Royal Cavalry’s 1st Band.
He added that Royal Horse Racing Club always encourages local horse breeding by allotting high prize races as an incentive for horse breeders and owners. The fifth race will be for local breed horses to be the main race.
Al Shahwarzi pointed out that there is strong collaboration between the Royal Horse Racing Club and Fegentri for exchanging experiences to serve local horse races and fans. The meeting will include one race for Fegentri with the participation of lady riders from various countries. Such races develop the skills and capabilities of riders to prepare them for international races.
The meeting will include the following five races: 1st race for pure Arabians, 2,000m, the 2nd race for thoroughbreds for 2,000m, the 3rd race for pure Arabians for 2,000m, the 4th race will be Fegentri cup for lady riders, 1,600m, and 5th race for pure Arabians, locally bred horses, 1,600m.
