Muscat: The unified law to combat commercial fraud in the Gulf Cooperation Council will benefit Oman's consumers, businesses and market, Chairman of the Consumer Protection Authority said.
His Excellency Sulayem bin Ali Al Hikmani, Chairman of the Consumer Protection Authority, also believes this "balanced law" will pave the way for a safer Gulf market as well, enabling member states to take joint action in case of violation and removing duplication in procedure, according to Oman News Agency's statement.
The law, issued by Royal Decree No. 54/2021, aims at strengthening the legal system to protect all players in the market.
