MUSCAT: A magnificent 101 studded with 7 sixes by Abdul Rauf powered Renaissance to a 69-run victory against AER International Trading and Contg. In a 50-over Premier Division match at Oman Cricket ground 1 in Al Amerat on Saturday.

Sufyan Mahmood’s 41 was the only other notable score as Renaissance was dismissed for 236. Syed Amir Ali was brilliant with the ball, taking 4 for 36 whereas Arjun Suresh and Muzahir Raza bagged two wickets each.

Reduced to 88 for 4 in 25 overs, AER could not recover well and was bowled out for 167 in the 46 th over due largely to brilliant bowling by Bilal Muhammed (3 for 21) and Ajay Lalcheta (3 for 35).

Brief Scores (Premier Division): Renaissance 236 all out in 50 overs (Abdul Rauf 110 – 3x4, 7x6, Sufiyan Mehmood 41 – 1x4, 1x6, Syed Amir Ali 4-36, Arjun Suresh 2-33, Muzahir Raza 2-63) beat AER International Trad. & Contg. 167 all out 45.4 overs (Aamir Kaleem 42 – 4x4, Bilal Muhammed 3-21, Ajay Lalcheta 3-35, Flourry Mathunny 2-17) by 69 runs.

In the day’s other Premier Division game, Oman all-rounder Muhammed Nadeem struck a superb 83 to help Yalla Shabab to a vital 43-run win over Majees at Oman Cricket ground 2.

Opting to bowl first, Majees did well to dismiss Yalla Shabab for 216 in the 50th over. Mohammed Naseem’s 37 and Jitenkumar Ramanandi’s 33 were the other main scores. Ahmed Fayyaz Butt picked up 3 for 34 while Nester Dhamba claimed

2 for 34.

Majees failed to exhibit the same flourish with the bat, slumping to 65 for 5 in 22nd over before being bundled out for 173 in the 47 th over. Khurram Khan topscored with a solid 54 while Nester Dhamba and Sultan Ahmed contributed 32 and 30 respectively. Kaleemullah, Muhammed Nadeem and Sanuth Ebrahim claimed two wickets each.
