Muscat: The Zubair Corporation recently celebrated the graduation of 13 employees, who successfully completed ‘Etimad’, the national programme for leadership development to empower Omani competencies in assuming middle and senior management positions within the private sector.
Etimad is one of the programmes stemming from the recommendations of the Labour Market and Employment Lab of the National Programme for Enhancing Economic Diversification, ‘Tanfeedh’. The graduation was attended by Al Zubair Mohammad Al Zubair, Vice Chairman of The Zubair Corporation, alongside the presence of several members of the Corporation’s senior management.
The graduation is aligned within the framework of The Zubair Corporation’s commitment to develop Omani competencies and enable growth in the private sector. Through its participation in this programme, the Corporation aims to prepare leaders within the second and first positions at The Zubair Corporation and its subsidiaries, in various disciplines, to ensure the availability of Omani nationals qualified for leadership positions. This celebration follows the Ministry of Labour’s recent virtual graduation ceremony that was organised for the first batch of the programme, with around 247 graduates participating from various private sector companies.
Through a set of programmes aimed at enhancing a diverse set of skills and different kinds of work, The Zubair Corporation seeks to empower Omani youth and train them in various professions to enhance their future careers. Through their participation in the ‘Etimad’ programme, supervised by the Ministry of Labour, the Corporation aims to empower national competencies and prepare them with the required leadership skills that qualify them to spearhead growth within the private sector. The programme consists of three main themes, which are, leadership from within, leadership by position, leadership through change and cooperation.
Commenting on the staff graduation, Al Zubair Mohammad Al Zubair said, “The Corporation’s participation in this programme is a part of its policy to support government initiatives that are aimed at developing and qualifying young Omani talents and enabling them to occupy middle and leadership positions across various group companies. Today, we are pleased to witness the graduation of this batch and are confident in the comprehensive training that they received over the course of the programme. We believe it will enable them to implement a clearer vision for the future of business in the companies in which they work. We extend our warmest congratulations to the graduates and look forward to seeing their achievements.”

The Zubair Corporation had followed a series of procedures to nominate employees to join the programme. The qualified employees were selected from the various companies of the Zubair Group and were subjected to a comprehensive evaluation according to the criteria of efficiency, productivity and job performance, in addition to the employee’s readiness to assume leadership positions in the future along with other criteria.
