Thunderstorms and dust storms predicted in parts of Oman

Muscat: Al Hajar Mountains and adjoining areas and some governorates of Oman may witness thunderstorms along with dust storms, Oman Meteorology said on Sunday.

"The weather is partly cloudy to cloudy skies along the coast of Dhofar Governorate and the adjoining mountains with chances of isolated rainfall. There are chances of convective cloud formation and rain accompanied with thunderstorms over Al Hajar Mountains and adjoining areas towards the afternoon. Dust storms are expected due to fresh winds over parts of Al Wusta and Dhofar governorates," Oman Meteorology said in a statement.

Oman Meteorology added that there is a chance of late night to early morning low-level clouds or fog over parts of the Arabian Sea coasts.
