Muscat: Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Hosani from the wilayat of Al Khaboura in North Al Batinah Governorate has been fascinated by the world of photography since his childhood.
Nature was a safe haven for the beauty of his colours so that his lens monitored his first capture when he returned with his brothers from school as a 14-year-old boy.
Many years and multiple awards later, Al Hosani spoke about his beginnings in the world of photography, “I joined the photography group in my school, and in light of the encouragement that everyone has showed me, my passion for the world of photography increased. I found a different world, and after I finished secondary school, the journey began by acquiring a smart phone, and the nature around me helped me to reach creativity.”
He said that he began to open his world with more passion and interest.
“I felt that everyone supported me and my first supporter was the Omani Photographic Society, which is credited with opening up multiple horizons for my photographic talent. I was keen to acquire a digital lens through which I could enter the world of photography and attend courses to develop and refine my talent.”
“I started posting some photos on Facebook pages and several sites, and it was a special experience that helped me continue and delve deeper into my talent,” the photographer added.
Ahmed Al Hosani added that “I also took professional lessons, so I was keen to gain experiences from photographers and constantly follow up on professional photographers in the world through social media, and it played a role in developing my photographic abilities and talent. In recent years, I have also tended to shoot videos.”
Ahmed Al Hosani, whose camera lens embodies creativity, was crowned with the Sultan Qaboos Award for Voluntary Work for Teaching Photography at the Child Care Centre in the year 2019. Al Hosani also won many awards at internal and external levels and 7 international medals from India, England and China.
“I participated in more than 40 international and 15 local exhibitions, and I was awarded the title of FIAP Artist from the International Federation for the year 2017,” Al Hosani said.
Ahmed Al Hosani became a member of the International Federation of Photographic and a member of the Omani Photographic Society.
The photographer established a photography team in 2015 affiliated with the Child Care Centre in the Sultanate. The team won the Under-19 World Cup in Germany in 2019, and it has an active role and contribution to community service.
