Heavy trucks ban to ease Ramadan traffic in Oman

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has decided to ban heavy trucks with a total load of over 10 metric tonnes from moving on all Muscat governorate roads during the holy month of Ramadan.
The trucks will not be allowed to run from Sunday to Thursday between 7 am to 9.30 am and from 1 pm to 3 pm.
The decision comes to ensure smooth traffic flow in Muscat Governorate during the month of Ramadan, The Royal Oman Police has urged all heavy truck operators to stick to the above timings. ROP also announced that the Immigration Department, Civil Statues and Traffic department will work from in one shift during the holy month of Ramadan which starts from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm. The ROP official working time for ROP different units which usually function in one shift will be from 8.30 am to 1.00 pm during Ramadan.
