Thunderstorms and dust storms predicted in parts of Oman

Muscat: Al Hajar Mountains and some governorates of Oman may witness thunderstorms along with dust storms, Oman Meteorology said on Wednesday.

"The weather is partly cloudy to cloudy skies along the coast of Dhofar Governorate and the adjoining mountains with chances of isolated rainfall. There will be clear to partly cloudy skies over the coastal area of Oman Sea with chances of isolated light rainfall. There are chances of convective clouds formation and rain accompanied with thunderstorms over Al Hajar Mountains towards the afternoon. Dust storms are expected due to fresh winds over parts of Al Wusta, South and North Al Sharqiyah, Al Dakhiliyah and Al Dhahirah governorates," Oman Meteorology said in its daily weather forecast.

"There is a chance of late night to early morning low-level clouds over parts of the Arabian Sea and Oman Sea coasts," Oman Meteorology added.
