Volunteers make COVID-19 vaccination drive a success story in Al Dhahirah

Muscat: Volunteers are making great efforts in order to vaccinate people against COVID-19 in Al Dhahirah Governorate.

Oman News Agency (ONA) said: “The voluntary charitable teams of the Social Committee in Al Dhahirah Governorate are making great efforts alongside the health institutions in the governorate’s wilayats in the COVID-19 vaccination campaigns carried out by the Ministry of Health."

Dr Laila Al Kalbani, head of the Health Education and Initiatives Department at the Directorate General of Health Services in Al Dhahirah Governorate, spoke about the efforts made by various volunteer teams in raising awareness among citizens about precautions against COVID-19 and encouraging people to get vaccinated.

Abdul Rahman bin Saeed Al Alawi, a member of the Yanqal charity team, said that since the start of the vaccination campaign organised by the Directorate General of Health Services in Al Dhahirah Governorate, at least 30 volunteers, both men and women, have participated.

Al Alawi added that the team members contributed to many awareness programmes and organising vaccination targets. They also assisted the elderly and people with disabilities in obtaining the vaccine and the medical staff in entering data and information under the supervision of specialists from the Ministry of Health.
