Muscat: An Omani citizen has been granted a volunteering passport for the first time in Oman.
Bakhit bin Salem Al Omari, the first Omani to obtain a volunteering passport from the Arab Federation for Voluntary Activities, said in a statement to the Oman News Agency (ONA) that his experience represented a religious and national duty and had earned him a lot of experience.
Al Omari contributed to the establishment of some volunteer teams, in addition to presenting a book titled 'Psychological Happiness' to families and educational and cultural bodies, and a new book titled 'Bullying'. He was honoured among the most prominent volunteer personalities in the Governorate of Dhofar by the Ministry of Social Development.
Bakhit Al Omari participated with the Tarabut Centre to present annual international conferences, in cooperation with the United Nations, in training nearly 500 volunteers to enhance the role and ethics of volunteer work.
