Muscat: The MSX index closed at 4,002.02 points, up 0.21 per cent from previous close. The Sharia Index up 0.31 per cent at 586.69 points.
Al Madina Investment, up 3.23 per cent, was the top gainer while Oman Cables Industry, down 3.38 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of Al Anwar Investment was the most active in terms of number of shares traded while Oman Cables Industry were the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 335 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating turnover of OMR2.2 million, with more than 8 million shares changing hands. Out of 39 traded stocks, 8 advanced, 8 declined and 23 remained unchanged. At the session close, foreign investors were net sellers for OMR77,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR100,000 followed by local investors for OMR23,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,359.62 points, down 0.13 per cent. Prices of Sohar International Bank and Bank Muscat were down 1.04 per cent and 0.45 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 5,891.82 points, up 0.17 per cent. Prices of Al Anwar Ceramics, Oman Fisheries and Oman Flour Mills were up 2.64 per cent, 2.53 per cent and 2.07 per cent respectively. Oman Cables Industry, National Aluminium Product and Jazeera Steel Product were down 3.38 per cent, 0.84 per cent and 0.50 per cent respectively.
Services Index was up by 0.20 per cent before closing at 1,717.41 points. Prices of Oman Telecommunication, Ooredoo and Renaissance Services were up 1.54 per cent, 1.05 per cent and 0.90 per cent respectively. Pheonix Power was the only loser by 2.13 per cent.
