Oman, Senegal discuss trade, investment opportunities over virtual meet
Investment and trade opportunities between Oman and Senegal were discussed during the meet

Muscat: His Excellency Eng Ridha Al Saleh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, held a virtual meeting with His Excellency Abdullah Sow, President of the Dakar Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in the Republic of Senegal.

They discussed opportunities for commercial cooperation between the two countries, including investment opportunities, areas of trade, and both chambers' aspirations to enhance cooperation across economic sectors.

HE Eng Ridha Al Saleh said these opportunities could be presented to Senegalese businessmen in the sectors of agriculture, fisheries, minerals, petrochemicals, tourism, health, education and information technology.

Trade between Oman and Senegal is limited, so the volume of exports and imports between the two countries could be raised, by organising joint meetings and exchanging visits, HE added.

"Oman has three main ports, including the port of Salalah, which aims to reach African markets, as well as a number of economic zones and free zones for investment," HE further said.

His Excellency Ambassador Abdullah bin Mohammad Al Ameri, Oman's ambassador to the Republic of Senegal who was also part of the meeting, expressed the embassy’s readiness to enable businessmen to invest in the two countries.

The meeting was also attended by Sirine Ali Dam, Senegal's ambassador to Oman.
