Muscat: In cooperation with Petroleum Development Oman, the Environment Authority is using drones to scatter one million mangrove seeds in the Wilayat of Mahout in Al Wusta Governorate.
"The seeds are being scattered across the Wetland Reserve in the Wilayat of Mahout, using drones for the first time in Oman in the cultivation of mangroves trees," the authority said in a statement.
This campaign, which began on Tuesday and will continue till Friday, is part of a national initiative to plant 10 million trees in the various governorates to preserve, protect and restore habitats and ecosystems.
