Tehran: Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister held this evening a session of talks with Dr Mohammad Javad Zarif, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The session reviewed the bilateral relations and the joint cooperation in different spheres between the two countries. The two sides affirmed their keenness in enhancing those relations to serve their joint interests for the good of their peoples.
The session also touched on regional and international developments of mutual interest.
Sayyid Badr underscored the importance of continuing to work on finding consensus in political solutions through peaceful dialogue and by backing all efforts exerted to achieve peace and security in the region.
In his turn, Dr Zarif commended the historical relations between the two countries, and the wise political role played by the Sultanate in dealing calmly with different issues.
He also stressed the importance of the joint and multilateral cooperation, as well as the endeavours of establishing peace and stability.
The session was attended by Ibrahim Ahmed Al Mu’aini, Oman’s Ambassador to Iran and officials from the two countries’ foreign ministries.
Assigned by His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik, Sayyid Badr arrived in Iran’s capital, Tehran earlier on Tuesday to represent the Sultanate in the swearing-in ceremony of the Iranian President-elect Ebrahim Raisi.
Sayyid Badr was received upon his arrival in Mehrabad International Airport by Iranian officials and members of the Omani embassy in Tehran.
