Oman's commercial activities see 30% increase in first quarter of 2021

Muscat: There was at least 30 per cent increase in the total number of commercial activities recorded in the first quarter of 2021 across the Sultanate’s Governorates.

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) said: "The number of commercial activities registered at MoCIIP during the first quarter of 2021 across the Sultanate’s governorates reached (5,811), compared to (4,433) activities in the same period in 2020, up by 31.09 per cent, according to the Statistics Department at MoCIIP."

The statistics show that the movement of commercial activity during the first quarter of 2021 was concentrated in the Governorate of Muscat, which recording (41.7 per cent) of the total volume of commercial activity in the Sultanate, followed by the Governorate of Al Batinah North (15.2 per cent), the Governorate of Dhofar (11.2 per cent), Governorate of Al Batinah South (8.1 per cent), Al Dakhiliyah (6.7 per cent), Al Sharqiyah south (5.4 per cent), Al Sharqiyah North (3.9 per cent), Al Dhahirah Governorate (2.7 per cent), Al Wusta (2.1 per cent), while the Governorate of Al Buraimi recorded 1.9 per cent and the Governorate of Musandam recorded 0.83 per cent.
