Omani swimmer Issa finishes sixth in Men’s 100m freestyle heats
In heat three, the first place went to Yemeni swimmer Mokhtar Al Yamani
Tokyo: Oman’s swimmer Issa Al Adawi ended his debut at the Tokyo Olympic Games after he came sixth with a time of 51.81 seconds in the preliminary qualification of Men’s 100m freestyle competitions on Tuesday at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre.
The national swimmer was assigned heat three.
His best timing has been 51.69s while Brazil's Cesar Cielo holds the current world record of 46.91s which was set in 2009.
In heat three, the first place went to Yemeni swimmer Mokhtar Al Yamani who clocked a time of 50.52s while swimmer Andrew Chetcuti (MLT) finished as runner-up with a timing of 51.47s. Yousef Al Matroushi of UAE came third with a timing of 51.50s.
The semi-finals will take place on Wednesday while the final will be held on Thursday.
