Al Jazeera Steel to contest US anti-dumping duty

Muscat: Al Jazeera Steel Products on Thursday said that the United States Department of Commerce has decided a weighted average dumping duty of 7.86 per cent on the company’s products.
“The United States Department of Commerce (DoC) preliminarily determined that circular welded carbon quality steel pipe from the Sultanate of Oman is being or is likely to be, sold in the United States at less than fair value,” said a disclosure statement issued by Al Jazeera Steel Products.
The company is strongly contesting this preliminary dumping margin and believes that the determined margin will not have material impact on the company’s revenue and profit.
