Expat worker in Oman drowns in Wadi

Muscat: An expatriate worker was found dead in a wadi in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate.

The Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) said in a statement: "Rescue teams attended to a report of a person being stuck in a bulldozer in the Lazg valley in the wilayat of Samail. He was stuck while carrying out excavations in the area and was found dead."

In South Al Sharqiyah, rescue teams managed to rescue two Asian nationals, stuck in the Wadi Al Silil stream in the Wilayat of Al Kamel and Al Wafi, and they are in good health.

The Royal Oman Police also announced that a family was trapped in their home in Humaydah area in the Wilayat of Al Kamil and Al Wafi when floodwaters entered their house. Rescue attempts are currently underway.

The police also announced the activation of the sub-committee of the National Emergency Management Committee in South Al Sharqiyah Governorate to follow up on all developments related to the weather situation with the participation of all concerned sectors.
