Muscat: The impact of the air depression will affect all governorates of Oman, The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has said.
”The latest analyses of the National Centre for Early Warning of Multiple Hazards show the continuation of the impact of an atmospheric depression from the Arabian Sea on Oman's airspace for several days,” CAA's online statement said.
"Clouds will likely flow over all governorates. There are chances of rain and thunder, accompanied by active downward winds. The governorates of North Al Batinah, Muscat, South Al Sharqiyah, North Al Sharqiyah, Dhofar, Al Wusta, and the Al Hajar Mountains and adjacent areas are might witness heavy rainfall,” the statement added.
It is possible that the sea will be rough along the coast of the Arabian Sea, with a maximum wave height of 3 - 4 metres. The maximum wave height along the coasts of the Sea of Oman is likely to be 2 metres.
The authority has called on people to take precautions during rains, ascertain the state of the sea before entering it, and to closely follow weather forecasts.
