Muscat: The Sultanate is witnessing a rise in the number of COVID-19 casualties with more than 35 deaths reported during the last 24 hours.
According to data from the Ministry of Health, these numbers point to a significant rise in COVID-19 deaths in the region.
With 37 deaths in the last 24 hours, the total number of deaths since the beginning of the pandemic in February 2020 has reached 3,472.
According to statistics from the ministry Tarassud app, among the people who died till July 12, 2021, 2,480 were Omanis and 955 expats; 2,388 were males and 1,047 females. The last time Oman recorded more than 37 deaths was on Saturday, July 4, 2021, with 50 deaths.
On Sunday there were 33 deaths, on Monday 23 deaths, on Tuesday 17 deaths, on Wednesday 15 deaths, on Thursday 19 deaths, on Friday 15 deaths, on Saturday 18 deaths, and on Sunday 12 deaths.
This means that on Tuesday, July 13, 2021, Oman has once again recorded a significant increase of deaths after 10 days.
On July 13, statistics made available on Tarassud showed that the number of those hospitalised during the past 24 hours reached 122, and 458 patients were admitted to the ICU, bringing the total number of patients admitted to health institutions to 1,290 patients.
There are 3,217 new cases of coronavirus, according to the daily report of the Ministry of Health. According to the Ministry stated that the total number of registered cases in the Sultanate is 287,054, with 260,826 recoveries (90.86 per cent) and 3,472 deaths (1.21 per cent).
The total number of current infections is 22,756 (7.93 per cent) and the total tests that have been conducted during the last 24 hours are 571,472.
