
Muscat: Undersecretaries of the ministries of health in the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council held their 18th meeting on Monday.
A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA) said: "Undersecretaries of the ministries of health in the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) held their 18th meeting via video conference, during which it was agreed that there will be a unified definition of infection and death resulting from COVID-19 in the GCC countries and agreement on the mechanism for conducting genetic sequencing tests for mutated strains."
"It was also agreed to standardise the criteria for classifying high-risk countries and to adopt the standards of the World Health Organisation (WHO) in this regard," added the statement.
