COVID-19: Oman records over 140 deaths in three days

Muscat: Oman has registered a new record number of Covid-19 deaths, exceeding 140 between the period July 1, to July 3, 2021.

On July 4, statistics made available on Tarassud, the COVID-19 monitoring app launched by the Ministry of Health (MoH) showed that the Sultanate recorded 143 deaths during the past three days. On Thursday this amounted to 50 deaths, 48 deaths on Friday and 45 deaths on Saturday, bringing the cumulative total to 3,283. There are 4,662 new COVID-19 cases, according to the daily report of the Ministry of Health on Sunday.

The numbers of those hospitalised during the past 24 hours reached 171 of which 532 patients were admitted to ICU, bringing the total number of patients admitted to health institutions to 1,589.

The ministry stated that the total number of registered COVID-19 cases in Oman is 275,1666, with 242,874 recovered or 88.3 per cent and 3,283 deaths or 1.16 per cent.
