Youth Sada in partnership with BP Oman launches third Al Dhahirah Leadership Forum

Muscat: In partnership with BP Oman, Youth Sada launched their third cycle of the Al Dhahirah Leadership Forum virtually, covering topics related to ‘Development of Governorates and Sustainable Cities’.

This topic is a key pillar in Oman vision 2040 and the five-year development plan, which is why it has been the chosen theme for this year’s forum.

The forum includes three phases which are the general programme, the specialised programme and the school programme. The forum will begin with the launch of the general programme, which targets 200 young Omanis, aged 18 years old and above from around Oman who is interested in this field.

The forum aims to develop the skills and capacity that builds young Omanis in the areas of innovation and discovery. This will be done through a series of lectures, discussion sessions, workshops, and training from specialized institutions. Participants will be able to develop a detailed concept of sustainable cities find ways to encourage our communities to utilise the latest technologies in establishing smart cities through infrastructure, governmental services and public utilities.

Shamsa Al-Rawahi, BP Oman Social Investment Manager, commented, “This forum supports our aim of developing the capabilities of young Omanis to help implement Oman’s 2040 vision. This programme will help our local communities gain the confidence needed to research, innovate, lead, and adopt the latest technologies in smart cities development. We are delighted to continue our partnership with Youth Sada and look forward to the outcomes of this forum.”

Qais Al Maqrashi, Chief Executive Officer at Youth Sada, added, “I look forward to working with young Omanis to help them develop their ideas around the development of governorates and sustainable cities in Oman. This forum will help raise awareness in our communities around initiatives surrounding these themes and will aim to develop 30 business concepts to contribute towards that goal.”
