Muscat: Foreign assets in the Central Bank of Oman approached OMR7 billion, according to the National Centre of Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The data from NCSI showed that the bank's total foreign assets increased by 8.1 per cent at the end of April to about OMR6.8 billion, compared to OMR6.3 billion last April.
The total private sector deposits with commercial banks and Islamic windows in Oman increased by 6.8 per cent to OMR17.2 billion, compared to OMR16.17 last year.
The total loans and financing of commercial banks increased by 3 per cent to OMR27.18 billion, compared to OMR26.39 billion in 2020. However, the average interest rate on total loans has shown no increase.
