Oman sees dip in public spending
Public spending decreased by 2.92 per cent

Muscat: Oman witnessed a decrease in state public spending compared to the previous year.

A statement issued online by Oman News Service (ONA) said: "The state public spending continues to decline with the continuation of government measures to rationalise spending and raise its efficiency. From January to the end of May 2021, it amounted to about 4,441.2 billion Omani riyals, recording a decrease of 2.92 per cent compared to the same period in 2020."

"The deficit recorded in the state’s general budget at the end of May 2021 amounted to about OMR 890.2 million," added the statement.
