Ministry invites applications for joint training programme in Oman

Muscat: The Ministry of Labour and Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology in cooperation with Cisco Systems announced that requests will be received from private sector establishments wishing to obtain qualified national cadres in the ICT sector.

A statement issued online by the Ministry of Labour said that it along with the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology in cooperation with Cisco Systems will be accepting requests from private sector enterprises to benefit from government support to acquire qualified national cadres with international certificates. These certificates will be related to the communications and information technology sector and are: CCNA, CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security and Cisco onboarding.

The training programme privileges are:

* Financing the appropriate training programme to qualify job seekers in the above-mentioned certificates and skills required to fill the jobs associated with them.

* The trainees undergo an on-the-job training programme for a period of 20 weeks, including four weeks on the job at the Cisco Systems Oman branch and eight weeks in the companies that operate them.

* A monthly grant for trainees during the training period, each according to his academic qualification.

Institutions wishing to benefit from this initiative are requested to register via the following link https://ext-sshr.mocs.gov.om/mol_reg and fill in all the required information between 30 June and 14 July, 2021.

Note: Institutions must pledge to employ programme graduates upon completion of the training programme.
