Muscat: OQ Group exported the first shipment of Salalah Liquefied Petroleum Gas Plant products to the global markets.

A statement issued online by Oman News Agency (ONA) said: "OQ Group announces that it has exported the first shipment of the products of the Salalah Liquefied Petroleum Gas Plant to the global markets on board the cargo ship MT Crumpler, which was launched earlier commercially, loaded with propane producers with approximately 5,000 metric tonnes and butane in the same quantity."

"The OQ LPG plant in Salalah consists of an extraction plant, storage tanks, shipping facilities and a connecting pipeline system, with an investment cost of $826 million, and is the first of its kind to process gas in the Sultanate to extract liquefied petroleum gas and condensate from the OQ gas network," added the statement.
