Muscat: The University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) valued the Royal Decree No. 47/2021, which promulgated the UTAS system of functioning.
The establishment of the UTAS under Royal Decree No. 76/2020 set the stage for the university to keep pace with Oman Vision 2040’s goals of upgrading scientific research and innovation within the context of Fourth Industrial Revolution and associated techniques and enhancing scientific progress in the Sultanate.
The Royal speech of His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tarik in February 2020 reaffirmed determination to accord attention to the quality of education and make it one of the Sultanate’s priorities over the forthcoming stage of development.
This was stated in the Royal Speech on 23 February 2020 as follows: “On top of our national priorities is the education sector, with all its types and levels. It will receive full attention, and it will be provided with a supporting environment which motivates research and innovation. We will also provide it with all means of empowerment, since it is the base upon which our children will be able to participate in meeting the requirements of the coming phase of development.”
