Over 2000 people in Oman with chronic kidney failure diseases: Statistics

Muscat: Over 2000 patients are suffering from chronic kidney failure diseases in Oman and 24 dialysis centres distributed over all governorates are providing services to them.

With the increase in numbers, a total of 24 dialysis centres with 373 beds distributed over all governorates have been established. Of which the  centre in Baushar is one of the oldest and largest. Since its opening in the Wilayat of Baushar in the Governorate of Muscat in 1998, it began work with 28 beds to serve 120 patients, which reached 52 beds in 2020 serving more than 350 patients in 24 hours.

Statistics indicate that the number of patients suffering from chronic renal failure in Oman has reached 2,500, including more than 600 patients in the Governorate of Muscat. The dialysis centres in the Governorate of Muscat have reached three each in Baushar and Seeb, in addition to a small unit in Quriyat Hospital, all of which have 95 beds.
