Muscat: Oman’s first residential complex only for women is expected to welcome its first tenants by September 2021.
Myriad Muscat, located in Al Khoudh, provides accommodation for 2,700 women, and is the first project in Oman by owners Strategic Housing Group.
The complex aims to target young working professionals, as well as students who come to the capital to pursue their higher studies.
Featuring both single and shared accommodation, all rooms contain a number of amenities, including Wi-Fi and utilities, a study desk and chair, storage space, in-room phones and routers, fridges, and en-suite bathrooms.
Additional facilities include cleaning services, a kitchen lounge on every floor, laundry rooms, and courtyards for people to enjoy the fresh air and mingle outdoors.
“Myriad Muscat provides an alternative for these young ladies who may not have relatives to stay with in Muscat while they are working or studying,” said Vik Rao, CEO of the Myriad and Strategic Housing Group.
“Although traditionally these individuals would stay with family, some may not have this option.
“At the same time, in our current climate, some families are affording their children more freedoms,” he added. “For individuals coming to study or work in Muscat from other parts of the Sultanate, the complex provides a second home closer to their place of study or work making commutes less time consuming and less costly.
“Living separately from family also allows these young ladies to gain independence, learn valuable life skills, meet other like-minded people and opens up networking opportunities all within a safe and nurturing environment,” he explained. “The property is located in Al Khoudh, in close proximity to major universities and education hubs.”
Attached to Myriad Muscat is a shopping mall that is open to the public, which features an entrance separate to the residential complex.
“Members of the public will have full access to the shopping mall,” said Rao. “The most notable features of the mall include a hypermarket, a food court, restaurants and cafes, an all-ladies fitness and wellness centre with an indoor swimming pool and jogging track. In addition, there are apparel shops, jewellers, opticians, laundry, beauty and healthcare, as well as other service and product providers."
“Retail tenants are already fitting out their shops and spaces, while residential tenants are expected to start moving in by September 2021, as we are already receiving booking inquiries,” he said.
