Muscat: Dr. Saif Salim Al Abri, Director General of Disease Surveillance and Control, Ministry of Health at the Supreme Committee meeting on Thursday said receiving Covid-19 vaccine will be a must in the coming period for entering schools and other government institutions.
"Receiving the vaccine will be a condition in the coming period for entering schools and other government institutions," Dr. Al Abri says. However, he pointed out that as of now, there were no vaccinations for children below 12 years of age.
He added, "We have started to notice an increase in the percentage of infected people of all age groups, especially those in the age group of 30 to 50 years. There are also cases of Covid-19 in children aged 12 years and under."
"A new set of target groups for Covid-19 vaccination as part of the National Campaign for Immunisation to be announced next week," said Dr. Saif Salim Al Abri.
