Shorter mountain road to link South Al Batinah-Al Dakhiliyah villages
The road will shorten the distance between the two clusters of villages by 45 to 50 kms.

Muscat: A community initiative has begun the work to reconstruct and rehabilitate a mountain road linking the villages of South Al Batinah governorate to the villages of Jabal Shams in Al Dakhiliyah governorate.

The road will shorten the distance between the two clusters of villages by 45 to 50 km for the citizens who used to travel to move from the mountain to the city and vice versa.

The Oman News Agency said, “With a community initiative, work has begun on a project to reconstruct and rehabilitate the mountain road linking the villages of South Al Batinah governorate to the villages of Jabal Shams in Al Dakhiliyah governorate.”

The project is being implemented in two phases. The first phase: with a length of 10 km, starting from the village of Karb in Jabal Shams to the village of Issab in Wadi Al Sahtan, and the second phase: a length of 8 km from the village of Yesab to the village of Al Qabil in Wadi Bani Ghafers.

The road shortens the distance by about 45 to 50 kilometres, and also saves effort and time for the residents of the villages of Al Marat and Karb in Jabal Shams to reach the wilayat of Rustaq instead of taking the ring road, which takes longer to reach the intended destination.
