Oman foils attempt to smuggle over 550 kgs of lobster

Muscat: The fisheries control team has foiled an attempt to smuggle over 550 kilograms of fresh Al-Sharkha through the Al-Wajaja port.

A statement issued online by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources said :"The fisheries control team was able to thwart an attempt to smuggle 593 kilograms of fresh Al-Sharkha through the Al-Wajaja port, as the ministry prohibits fishing and possession of Al-Sharkha during the period June to the end of February.  Legal procedures will be completed against the violator. "
