Experts to survey Ras Al Harq fire site

Muscat: The Environment Authority, in coordination with the competent authorities, will send specialised experts to survey the site of fire in the Wilayat of Al Hamra to determine the damage it has caused and to develop a plan for its rehabilitation.

The authority thanked the Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority, the Royal Oman Police, the Royal Air Force of Oman, community members and volunteer teams for putting out the fire in the Ras Al Harq area in the Wilayat of Al Hamra. 

"This reflected solidarity for protecting the environment and preserving wildlife," the authority added.

The experts will survey the damage caused by the fire to the wildlife and vegetation, study the cause of the fire and the reasons for its spread, as well as formulate a plan to rehabilitate the site at the earliest.
